Ozzy Osbourne, a year on.

In just a few hours of typing this blog it will be the first year anniversary of the death of the man who birthed heavy metal. The Prince of Darkness, John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne, was born close to where I live, in the city of Birmingham. It was in Birmingham that he cofounded the band Black Sabbath in 1968. This was before I was even born.
What followed was 56 years of pure creative genius, heavy metal rock music, to inspire generations to come.
I was lucky enough to have seen him perform twice in my lifetime and I felt priviledged to have been able to attend his funeral cortege in Birmingham last year in 2025.
His music was a huge influence in my life, as it was for millions around the world!
"The Osbournes", also paved the way for reality TV, when they opened they're doors to the cameras and allowed us to see them for everything they were, good and bad. Years before the Kardashians! I highly recommend you watch them.
When Ozzy sadly passed I felt compelled to crochet a little something to help me process the grief I felt. So I crochet a little amigurumi Ozzy...

This year, 2026, I am still processing the grief, as many are. I decided to crochet a simple Ozzy Cushion, in his iconic purple colour, with some little black bats.
There is no pattern, but there are links to the Youtube videos I used posted below, that you can follow and make your own Ozzy cushion.
