The Crochet and Cuppa Club

I started the Crochet and Cuppa Club back in March 2024.

But before that I used to run a sewing circle back in 2019, which moved online for the Covid lockdowns, but sadly the longer the lockdowns lasted the less and less people attended the live meet ups. Which is understandable, being that it was a very stressful time.

Then when the lockdowns were lifted two of the women from my sewing circle decided to stab me in the back and steal my group and all its members. This caused me to retreat into myself and I became unwilling to socialise.

In March 2024 I started going to my favourite local café, Katies Cakes, almost every Saturday. My youngest was attending a local youth group in town and I would sit in Katies Cafe for up to 3 hours, crocheting. I felt a bit lonely one Saturday and decided that there must be others who would love to join me and crochet, so I decided to start a new social meet up group. The Crochet and Cuppa Club was born.

We meet up on the first Saturday of every month from 12:30-2:30pm. It is a free social group, but we are more than happy to teach new learners HOW to crochet. And if you can already crochet, but want to learn new techniques, we do that too.

Everyone is welcome from 8 to 80 year olds. Knitters are welcome too.

We have a small private community group on Facebook that everyone is welcome to join, even if you don't attend our meet ups. Click HERE to join.

We are all about supporting and teaching each other this great skill.
